The station includes a plastic Evolution case with wall bracket, 2 Sterile Eye Dressings, 2 HypaClens Sterile Eye Wash Bottles, 10 20ml Eye Wash Pods in a wall-mounted dispenser, 2 500ml Cederroth Eye Wash Bottles with mounting brackets, and a mirror, all positioned against a backing poster which provides in-depth guidance on using each item.
The Eye Wash Station minimises unnecessary waste by providing an eye wash product for a range of scenarios. The 20ml Eye Was Pods are ideal for treating minor irritation, caused by dust or small insects for example, for which using the larger bottles would be excessive - once opened, bottles are no longer sterile and cannot be reused. For a more serious incident, the two 500ml bottles allow you to steadily rinse the eye whilst others seek assistance. HypaClens Eye wash pods and bottles are sealed, sterile, single-use medical devices containing 0.9% saline solution.
The station also includes eye wash which is particularly suited for treating chemical contamination. Cederroth Eye Wash, consisting of Borate buffered sterile Isotonic Sodium Chloride solution, has a neutralising effect on both acid and alkaline and is more effective at restoring normal eye pH than tap water or sterile saline solution. Crucially this can reduce the damage caused to the eye from a chemical splash compared to flushing with water or standard saline solution.
The Eye Wash Station also includes helpful written and graphical instructions for each eye wash product, as well as explaining chemical warning signs and how the neutralising effect of Cederroth Eye Wash compares to other methods.
The station includes all the fixtures required to assemble it and secure it to the wall.
* The station exceeds HSE guidelines which state at least a litre of eye wash should be available for a workplace incident.
